About the Committee
The Academic Committee is responsible for finding opportunity to carry out the core goals of the Foundation. It does so through various programs and subcommittees. All USGIF Members are welcome to participation in this committee and its subcommittees:

  • Accreditation Subcommittee: In 2005, USGIF formed an Accreditation panel that over an 18-month period established, published, and verified standards for learning objectives supporting the tradecraft. Following a review and public comment phase, the USGIF will accredit courses and programs; Universities and Colleges confer the Geospatial Intelligence Certificate to successful students.

  • Scholarship Subcommittee: USGIF is dedicated to further the advancement of the geospatial intelligence trade. One way the Foundation is accomplishing this is by awarding annual scholarships to promising graduate, undergraduate, and high schools who are studying or plan to study geospatial intelligence related fields at the university or college level.
