Accreditation Panel
In 2005 USGIF formed an Accreditation panel made up of a carefully selected group of recognized GEOINT experts from academia, industry and government. Together these individuals were tasked over an 18 month period to establish, verify and publish standards for learning objectives supporting the tradecraft. USGIF accredits courses and programs based on their relevancy the field of geospatial intelligence. The panel objectives are:
- Create an Accreditation Process which ensures academic standards meet the expectations for industry and government institutions to differentiate themselves.
- Establish Curriculum Guidelines so that educational subject matter is relevant to industry and government needs for geospatial intelligence professionals, and to ensure the consistency among the Geospatial Intelligence Certificate providers.
- Build an On-Line Catalogue of accredited courses and Geospatial Intelligence Certificate programs to enable prospective students to find courses and programs that best meet their needs and attract academic institutions to participate in the accreditation process.
